Harnessing Energy – Energy Healing therapies a great addition to the spa menu

Monday, November 13th, 2006

There are many religions, cultures and societies that have for millenia touted the great power of human energy fields. Often, these energy fields are disrupted by our daily activities and certainly by the myriad emotions and roller coaster that is life on this earth. Spa’s across North America are turning to energy therapies intended to heal, enliven, and restore the balance in each of us. Dayspa Magazine’s featured article of the month deals directly with this new type of treatment. Here’s an excerpt from their new November article by Linda Jacobson-Kossoff:

It’s one of those terms that some therapists and alternative medicine practitioners use to explain how their treatments work, but that also tends to leave a vague-at-best impression on the listener’s mind. It’s always difficult to crystallize a concept that can’t be tangibly seen, held, heard or smelt, but like so many therapies that have been embraced in the modern wellness community, energy work is gaining credibility as more people take the plunge and reap the rewards.

Holiday Hair

Tuesday, November 7th, 2006

If you’ve been to the grocery store lately, you’ll be well aware that the holiday’s are coming. Oh, did I say holiday’s…plural…cause of course Thanksgiving doesn’t count, or so you’d think thanks to the retailers. Anyway, with the holiday(s) approaching, it’s a good idea to start thinking about how you’ll wear your hair for that party, that event at work, or that gala you’ve been invited to on New Year’s Eve.

Beauty Launchpad magazine has a great article this month about Holiday Hairdo’s, and the timing couldn’t be better. Here’s a clip from the article by Jeryl E. Spear:

Say good-bye to your boho mojo this holiday season. When the sun goes down and the lights come up, your clients will crave a touch of old Hollywood glamour. What will they be expecting you to deliver? Beautiful updos. Wavy bobs. Hot cascading curls. Looks that will put them on the A-list and make their friends turn green with envy.

Complementing the more tailored styles that top models wore at fall fashion shows such as Temperley London and Valentino, classic elegance and haute aspirations define this holiday season. With this new emphasis on fashion’s striking silhouettes, soft, structured hairstyles are making an artful return on the red carpet, the runway and at your salon.
